Everyones favourite Uncle "Chris" has been a certified
professional guide and has lived in Africa since 1955. In his late teens he
worked with well known wildlife photographer Simon Trevor, assisting in the production of "Ivory
Bloody Ivory". A documentary which highlighted the severe poaching of Elephant
and Rhino in the Tsavo East area in the early '70's This early exposure fired a
passion for the "bush"and conservation.
With a degree in
Environmental Science Chris started working in remote parts of Southern Sudan, Tanzania,
Djibouti, Yemen, and Gabon. Whenever back in Kenya on rotation breaks, Chris
would load up his old 4X4 and head off to the bush in search of new
experiences.
Joining forces with his wife
Tamsin, Chris started running small exclusive lodges in Kenya. Heavily involved
in anti-poaching programmes Chris adapted the focus mutating to community
conservation ideals which have more focus in todays world.
As a Private Guide Chris has
led safaris for private individuals and University educational. Often called
upon as a resident guide and consultant for televised wildlife documentaries, such
as the popular BBC "Big Cat Diary" and more recently Disney Natures "African
Cats" which opens in theatres on Earth Day 2011.
